Organisational Design

Delivered a transformation programme to Herefordshire Public Services to change the way local government and health services are delivered in Herefordshire County across the local unitary authority, NHS and primary care trust organisations. Led the people change management and organisational design, successfully enabling the 3 major public sector organisations to merge and transform into a commissioning focussed organisation and a series of provider organisations. Managed the programme to not only improve outcomes for local people but enabled the organisation to meet tough financial targets and achieve savings of in excess of £5.4m per annum in management costs alone.
Business Transformation

Supporting Improvement & Efficiency South East (the Regional Improvement & Efficiency Partnership for the South East councils) to deliver high-profile projects supporting councils in their implementation of service transformation. Many of the 74 Authorities in the South East region have successfully transformed the delivery of their services but there remains a significant opportunity for other authorities in the region from sharing this learning and continuing to build on these foundations to achieve efficiencies and improve customer service. Through a series of Business Process Improvement (BPI) projects, network events and BPI training, the Corporate Transformation Partnership will support the delivery of Business Transformation in the South East.
Financial & Performance Management for managers

Supported the Council in diagnosing the strengths and areas for improvement in current financial management and performance management systems and in developing managers to improve their understanding and capabilities around these topics to improve service delivery. Support was provided via interactive workshops designed to transfer expertise to managers as well as enabling them to share their experiences and best practice. Work was undertaken to identify strengths, areas for improvement and the next steps to ensure that the systems were fit for purpose in enabling officers to deliver improving services.
Councillor development

Supported the Leicestershire & Rutland Improvement Partnership in collaboration with Local Government East Midlands by providing a series of evening workshops for elected councillors on a variety of topics. The three hour interactive sessions focused on raising awareness of the current issues and solutions, sharing experiences amongst delegates as well as identifying opportunities for improving local council service delivery. Topics including:

Programme & Project Management Practice

We supported the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority with the development of their portfolio, programme and proejct management approaches. We developed a pooled resource of professional programme and project management staff and the systems and processes for deploying them to deliver the business change agenda across the organisation. Also, we initiated the project management of an Enterpris Project Management system for the Authority.
